It's Montana Day Today

The winners of the Montana NZ Book Awards are announced tonight at a dinner at the Wellington Town Hall. I am a-twitch with nerves but trying to enjoy the moment. It is simply thrilling to be there in the final four with Laurence Fearnley, Alice Tawhai and Charlotte Grimshaw. So all power to us! And watch this spot.

Good luck Mary! I'll be thinking of you and watching the late news with interest!

Congratulations Mary! Not only on the Best First Book, which was inevitable, but on the Readers' Choice award! That is huge. I seem to remember a certain history of New Zealand winning the same award back in 2005. ;-)

Rachael, you're quick off the mark! Thanks for your usual warm and generous response to someone else's success. You really are one out of the box.

And thank you for reminding me of one illustrious past winner of the Readers' Choice Award. It was so unexpected I haven't even had a chance to think about it.

And I'm still reeling really...

But I have just now written three pages in the moleskine cahier... Precarious is underway again.... yippee

Well I obsessively check my emails before I go to bed and there was one from Graham's blog about it all.

Great that you're back into it inspired. Thanks for your kind words. I do like to celebrate other people's success. Especially people I like. ;-)
