OMG - what an absolutely fab idea for the English classroom. 'Outline the development of plot/character/problem a la face book' I love it and am gonna suggest it to the English teaching community here in NZ. As a FB devotee, I laughed and laughed. Today, one of my Y13s said: Mrs Roxborogh, I saw that you were at school marking till 8:30 last night. (see smiles) Sophie, sez I, I wasn't marking your essays.

Classic.
I saw it as a brilliant piss-take: look at a great novel, robbed of its psychological nuance and narrative movement.
But perhaps it'll help students with the signposts of character and plot.
