Talks and Workshops

I get enormous pleasure from talking to groups of any size and shape about The Blue and about writing generally. I have spoken to bookclubs, and at various bookshop and library events. I have given readings at universities and as part of the Writers and Readers Weeks in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland, and have chaired events for other writers as part of the Victoria University Writers on Monday and the Massey University Writers Read.

Even if your group is outside the Wellington area, still ask. There is some funding available for writer talks via the Book Council.

I am also happy to take writing workshops with groups from pre-school through to adults. I have experience of taking writing workshops with playcentres, kindergarten teachers, primary school-aged children especially gifted writers at intermediate age, secondary school students via small workshops and at the annual Secondary School Writers' Festival, tertiary students via university 100 creative writing courses and as part of an MA in creative writing.
